Job description

SHIPPING-RECEIVING ASSISTANT

Department: Shipping-Receiving

Reports to: Assistant Director of Internal Operations

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Shipping and receiving inventory
  • Maintaining relationships with logistic companies
  • Physical inventory count and reconciliation

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Shipping and Receiving
    • Identify individual item shipping details and prepare packages and palletized products for shipping
    • Detail accounting of each shipment sent through our shipping dept.
    • Reporting of quantities and items shipped daily
    • Work with our logistics partners in providing on-time shipping for customers
    • Relate well with other employees to maintain excellent working environment
    • Unloading trucks, check-in inventory, stocking shelves
    • Accept and unload palletized and parcel deliveries
    • Record all delivery information on the log sheet.
    • Ensure all items are labeled with S/N and/or part number as needed.
    • Verify deliveries with purchase order.
    • Deliver inventory to appropriate department
  • Assist with month end physical inventory count and reconciliation
  • Maintenance and building service as requested by supervisor
  • Any other duty assigned by management.

    Working/Physical Conditions:

  • Environment: Primarily office-based setting with a mix of administrative and hands-on tasks involving
  • Team Collaboration: This role involves frequent interaction with multiple departments. Occasional requirements for assisting in other areas as needed to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift and move items up to 60 lbs. regularly, with occasional heavier lifting as required.
  • Active Work: This role involves long periods of standing, walking, bending, and moving items throughout the office and warehouse.
  • Expected Work Schedule: Regular business hours, with occasional overtime during peak periods or special projects.
