Job description

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Manager
Type: Type: Full-Time Employment, Salary, Exempt | Location: Onsite, Plant City, FL
Responsibilities
  • Direct daily shipping/receiving activities. Schedule staff to safely, accurately, and effectively perform all work per SOP's while minimizing overtime. Ensure all needed equipment and supplies are available.
  • Hire, onboard, perform periodic evaluations, and manage disciplinary/corrective actions.
  • Coordinate product/packaging deliveries and order shipping appointments with Logistics, Commodity Management, Sales, Production, and Materials teams and carriers.
  • Oversee the accurate receiving of domestic and imported fruit from local growers, suppliers, and transfers. Report damages or discrepancies when necessary.
  • Prepare, stage, and ship all orders and transfers timely in accordance with SOP's and meeting customer requirements.
  • Ensures all clerical functions are performed properly, including creating or processing shipping documents and communicating status changes or issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, manage product organization, conduct daily cycle counts, and alert when issues arise (discrepancies, excessive age, improper product rotation, poor quality, etc.).
  • Constantly monitor productivity and efficiency of each defined KPI and communicate issues as well as offering improvements as needed. Provides feedback and corrective action in financial meetings.
  • Ensure operations are performed within all regulatory guidelines for personnel safety, food safety, organic program regulations, and customer required compliance.
  • Ensure all maintenance and sanitation needs are performed timely.
  • Supports team members to maintain good morale.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be passionate about produce; four to five years' experience preferred.
  • General understanding of Food Safety programs such as good practices related to GAP's, GMP's, HACCP, etc., preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player who possesses a sense of priority and works well alongside other departments.
  • Well organized with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge or capacity to learn the Famous software to perform all activities related to product management.
Physical Demands
  • Must be willing to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment (34 ยฐF - 40 ยฐF).
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs - 30 lbs as needed.
  • May engage in frequent bending, pulling, pushing, squatting to complete assigned tasks.
