Job description

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Temporary with opportunity for full-time after 90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st or 2nd Shift, depending on business needs

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading the Shipping & Receiving team, ensuring accurate shipments and deliveries, maintaining inventory organization, and supporting company safety, quality, GMP, and SQF food safety standards.


Bilingual English/Spanish required.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct daily Shipping & Receiving operations.
  • Lead, train, and support Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GMPs, and SQF food safety standards.
  • Inspect shipping, receiving, freezer, cooler, and dock areas daily.
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records.
  • Monitor inventory organization in freezer, cooler, and dry storage areas.
  • Coordinate daily workload and priorities for the Shipping & Receiving team.
  • Ensure department cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Report equipment issues and coordinate service when needed.
  • Authorize overtime as directed and communicate operational needs to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality standards.
  • Serve as backup for the Shipping & Receiving Manager when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of Shipping & Receiving or warehouse experience.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience required.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience operating electric forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP and food safety practices preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management, ERP/WMS systems, or RF scanners is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments ranging from 0°F to 40°F.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with slippery floors and moderate noise.
