Shipping / Receiving Supervisor - 3097
Job Summary
Supervises employees engaged in the processing of items being brought into the organization's facilities or shipped out from the organization.
Job Duties
  • Ensure that materials are checked against vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar documentation
  • Oversee the record keeping of damaged or defective items and discrepancies with regard quantities or weights
  • Record time, date, quantity, source and destination of materials that been shipped or received
  • Evaluate the efficiency of existing shipping/receiving processes, implementing procedural improvements when necessary.
  • Monitor and track staff performance against organizational objectives
  • Review and maintain records of shipping/receiving processes
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education
  • Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees
  • Typically have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance or disciplinary actions
  • Typically require a bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience
