Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor position is quite varied regarding the scope of work performed. Tasks may include the following but are not limited to; oversee all daily operations of production and manufacturing to ensuring all Feldmeier Safety and Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations are followed.

Requirements:

Essential Functions of Position:

· Plan, organize, delegate, and direct day-to-day operations to meet production schedule, production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

· Strive daily to create and maintain a positive work environment, communicating with employees and supervisors to foster employee growth and positivity.

· Review schedule daily to ensure all components and small parts are accounted for, and all employees have the resources needed to complete jobs by the due date.

· Monitor schedule, planning ahead in the short, intermediate and long term, to ensure all components are on schedule and there are no delays in shipment, avoiding waiting periods and starting longer builds in front of shorter builds.

· Communicate with the Plant Manager corporate scheduler to ensure customer shipping expectations are met and any potential delays are known in advance.

· Work closely and communicate regularly with production services, purchasing, engineering and all management, ensuring to communicate any delays which could affect the ship date to the corporate scheduler.

· Work closely and communicate regularly with Plant Manager to schedule preventative machine or rail maintenance to minimize the impact on production, and that necessary equipment repairs, internal and external are completed in a safe and timely manner.

· Follow all SOPs and hold employees accountable for adhering to SOP’s to maintain continuity.

· Work closely with QC and Grinding Trainer/Supervisor to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.

· Ensure that all parts are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

· Oversee the inventory management of our in-process parts, ensuring that all parts are properly labeled, stored and tracked.

· Consistent awareness of ways to increase production and efficiencies, reducing and/or removing unnecessary costs without lowering current quality standards.

· Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

· Support all safety procedures, addressing unsafe situations and actions on the spot to eliminate the hazard.

· Work with HR to communicate hiring needs, training new hires as needed.

· Coach employees in cooperation with HR to help maximize employee strength and growth abilities.

· Review with HR all new hire employees to ensure they are being provided timely and adequate feedback.

· Champion rewards and recognition efforts to help with retention and motivation.

· Manage, develop, and retain the workforce needed for production schedule (in cooperation with HR).

· Keeping employees accountable, discipline and carrying out separations of employment as needed.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization, and all other duties needed to effectively operate the manufacturing facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 5 years of progressive experience in Metal Fabrication

· Computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

· 5-10 years of progressive experience in plant manufacturing

· Previous experience holding teams accountable to KPI’s

· Experience with Epicor for Dashboard utilization

· Ability to handle stress.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours per day.

· Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and platforms for elevated work

· Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, balancing, stooping, lie down inside or under vessel and twisting while performing required job tasks.

· Comfortable in chemically Hazardous Situations.

· Being mindful of chemical safety and use proper PPE when required.

· Being able to hold a 4-8lb grinder for prolonged periods, while applying force.

· Ability to grasp welding torch while welding parts for brief periods to long periods of time.
