Job Summary:

Air Liquide is seeking a full-time Filling Plant Operator to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB. In this key role, you will be responsible for filling, inspecting, and moving industrial and medical gas cylinders, operating material handling equipment (such as forklifts), and ensuring compliance with safety and TDG regulations. We are looking for a safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and dependable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment combining physical work and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare empty cylinders for filling.

  • Fill and handle high-pressure cylinders while following Air Liquide's safety requirements.

  • Take ownership of quality and safety control.

  • Participate in administration and ongoing process improvements.

  • Prepare, inspect, set up, monitor, and operate filling equipment.

  • Communicate with maintenance and management regarding cylinder issues.

  • Comply with all safety rules and standard operating practices.

  • Maintain workstation cleanliness and housekeeping according to company standards.

  • Maintain and improve efficiency standards through teamwork.

  • Produce quality products within the required timeframe.

  • Perform quality tests to check fill weights, proper labeling, and coding.

  • Perform proper cleaning of product tanks.

  • Perform tasks in other areas as needed.

  • Lift and/or roll cylinders as required.

  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts.

  • Ship cylinders in accordance with TDG regulations.

  • Assemble pallets and load/unload trucks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the industrial sector.

  • High school diploma.

  • Ability to qualify for medical filling processes and GMP standards when applicable.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Physically fit, strong work ethic, quick learner, and ability to lift/roll cylinders.

  • Must be flexible with working hours (afternoon and/or evening shifts required).

  • Knowledge of compressed gases and prior forklift experience are strong assets.
