PART-TIME, TEMPORARY SEX OFFENDER UNIT ANALYST (SHERIFF'S OFFICE) - BISBEE OPENS: Thursday, July 23, 2026 CLOSES: Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 5 PM RATE OF PAY: $16.61 hourly HOURS: Up to 19.5 hours per week PLEASE NOTE: All positions require a post offer, pre-employment comprehensive background screening to include psychological and voice stress analysis exams. NATURE OF WORK: Serving the Cochise County Sheriff Office (CCSO) under general supervision, this civilian position is responsible for collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and disseminating information and intelligence data regarding Sex Offender Registration and Offender; may perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics

TYPICAL DUTIES: (Illustrative Only) Collects and routes Sex Offender Notification bulletins to/from surrounding law enforcement agencies; assesses offender' risk level to determine notification requirements; highlights relevant information to alert Cochise County communities; utilizes computer databases, electronic spreadsheets, geographic information systems (GIS) applications, desktop publishing, word processing, and statistical applications to analyze and present offender data; conducts research and strategic analysis to track and manage current/past offenders; locating and meeting with offenders and citizens; identifies proactive measures to implement long range plans for effective offender management; prepares reports and makes recommendations as required. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of experience utilizing computer databases, geographic information systems (GIS), statistical applications to manipulate, analyze and present data; ability to obtain and maintain an ACJIS certification requiring a comprehensive security clearance; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License and the ability to be covered by County insurance.

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: federal, state and local regulations or ability to obtain; criminal justice system; crime analysis, reporting, terminology or ability to obtain Skill in: software applications within the Microsoft Office Suite; intelligence gathering, analysis and data extrapolation; critical thinking in high stress or high intensity situations; analytics and problem solving; compiling statistics and maintaining records. Ability to: establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and other agencies; follow written and verbal instruction; read, write and speak English; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; learn new software; gather information and prepare written reports in a detailed, clear and precise manner exercise judgment in planning, prioritizing and direction of work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls and field work in a variety of climatic conditions. Travel and driving required. May require working evening and weekends PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Sedentary to Medium work: Requirements are dependent on the tasks of the day and range from Sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force only occasionally with sitting for extended periods of time, to Medium, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, feel or manipulate with hands.. Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details and focus, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
