Role Summary
Seeking an experienced IBM MQ & Solace Engineer to support mission-critical messaging platforms within the SRE organization. Responsible for platform reliability, availability, automation, monitoring, incident management, and service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support IBM MQ and Solace environments (Prod/UAT/DR).
Manage Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Clusters, Topics, VPNs, and Event Mesh.
Perform troubleshooting, RCA, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, and DR testing.
Drive SRE practices including SLO/SLI monitoring, automation, and operational excellence.
Support major incidents, problem management, and 24x7 production operations.
Develop automation scripts and improve platform observability.
Required Skills
IBM MQ: Queue Managers, Clustering, Pub/Sub, SSL/TLS, HA/DR, MQ Appliance.
Solace PubSub+: Message VPNs, Topics, Queues, Event Mesh, HA/DR, JMS/AMQP/MQTT.
Monitoring: Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace/AppDynamics, ELK.
Scripting: Python, Shell, Ansible.
Platforms: Linux/Unix, Kubernetes/OpenShift (preferred).
Strong experience in Production Support, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
Preferred
Financial Services domain experience.
Exposure to Kafka, DataPower, Apigee, API Management, and Event-Driven Architectures.
Knowledge of ITIL and SRE best practices.
