The Sheet Metal Superintendent is responsible for providing overall direction for field installation of assigned project, own direct responsibility for field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety on assigned project. Representing the company on the project site and ensuring that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope.


  • Attends and contributes to the various project meetings.
  • Plan-reading, coordination, layout, sketching and materials take-off.
  • Material, tool and equipment handling; which include: ordering, receiving, placing and returning.
  • Contracts scope delineations; confirms that construction drawings and specifications agree with contract scope.
  • Responds to general contractor's requests concerning our scope limits.
  • Trades stacking and phasing and influences project scheduling.
  • Manpower loading and maintaining the two week look-ahead schedule.
  • Time keeping and other administrative duties such as daily reports, submittal log, RFI (Request for Inquiry) status etc.
  • Ensures that safety and other company programs are implemented and effective.
  • Building code compliance.
  • Labor and material cost forecasting with project team
  • Quality control.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Must have experience managing 5 or more crews of 2-3 workers each.
  • Must have verifiable experience working on projects of $500K or more.
  • Minimum of 3 years craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of how jobs are assembled in the field.
  • Must manage to the budget, plan to the schedule, plan for the unexpected, meet or exceed project deadlines, while keeping safety first.
  • Influence the workers to do it the company way and the installation to reflect the Company brand.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
