What is a sheet metal assistant?

Sheet metal assistants are entry-level workers who support skilled sheet metal workers in fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products. Their duties often include measuring materials, cutting and bending sheet metal, handling tools, and maintaining a clean workspace. They play a crucial role in helping projects run smoothly by assisting with preparation, transportation of materials, and basic assembly tasks.
