The incumbent is responsible for coaching the team members and arranging team meetings to discuss functional improvements within the area.  He/she is accountable for a specific area of responsibility within the order fulfillment process.  The Distribution Center Manager may lead one or more of the following sub-processes such preparing and validating customer orders; selecting; packing; shipping goods.  The Distribution Center Manager may also be responsible for other relevant processes, such as handling product returns as well as receiving, verification, and stock replenishment.  He/she is accountable for meeting the Company customer service standards. The Distribution Center Manager is in direct contact with the team members at the Distribution Center.  Directly, he/she oversees and coordinates the work activities of one or more specific functions.  In addition, your duties will also include:  * Administers workflow and prepares work schedules of team members to maximise efficiency and meet/exceed customer service standards.  * Oversees daily operations, manages staff, and ensures efficiency in a high-tech environment by monitoring and optimizing systems. He/she will be responsible for managing the warehouse management system and assures efficiency of the operations throughout our continuous improvement program.  * Trains employees on proper processes and sub-processes as notified by the CPI Manager or a member of the continuous improvement program. Trains on specific tasks such as proper equipment usage, material handling, and maintenance.  Determines positions to be rotated and considered for training and encourages cross training between all team members.  * Ensure all team members achieve proper housekeeping within the area of responsibility. Ensure area of responsibility is well maintained, productive, and in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.  * Reviews variance reports for specific areas of responsibility. Offers solutions to ensure levels of productivity are achieved. Resolves current and anticipated concerns.    * Works with the Rexel Traffic Manager and banner Operations Managers, to align transport service providers, to meet service level expectations  * Works directly with banner stakeholders to understand internal and external service level expectations and provides regular DC status updates.  * Maintains a positive work climate and notifies Director of Operations of performance issues related to the team members.  * Provides coaching and supervision. Reports on the ongoing performance of team members and identify superior performers with development potential.  * Ensure proper health and safety measures are followed when operating machinery or equipment.  * Reviews facility security infrastructure periodically to ensure that team members and facility assets are properly protected  * Responsible for the proper maintenance and usage of equipment and machinery.  Notifies Director of Operations of exceptional repairs or concerns and creates OREA in workflow for approvals and traceability  * Responsible for the maintenance of inventory integrity.  Works with Inventory QA and DC Administration to identify and address root causes of variances.  * Recommends routine expenditures for daily administrative operations and notify and/or obtain approval from Director of Operations for major expenditures for equipment and machinery.  * Manages the Distribution Center’s headcount to strike an effective balance between service level expectations and OPEX control.
