Job description

Overview

The Product Manager, specifically for Direct View LED, assumes responsibility for product life cycle activities for the direct view LED product lines. With direction from the Director, Product Marketing they are responsible for managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver industry-leading products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals. The Product Manager must be able to communicate with all areas of the company as well as other worldwide sales offices and product development groups in Germany and Japan. The Product Manager will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. They will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for their product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.

The successful candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. Product Manager must enjoy spending time in the market to understand challenges and opportunities and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze end user, product, sales, pricing, and general market segment trends.
  • Manage product line's P&L and marketing mix and drive the development of strategic recommendations
  • Coordinate launch activities in conjunction with marketing communications, product development, and sales teams
  • Subject matter expert to build awareness of products through social media efforts in coordination with marketing
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and prospects.
  • Drive new product introductions from conception through successful launch by working closely with development, procurement, and planning teams
  • Monitor competitive activities including pricing, promotions, marketing strategies and product offerings to ensure that Sharp is in line competitively
  • Provide ongoing training to sales teams to include detailed product information, product positioning, presentations, and other sales support materials
  • With events manager, provide direction and manage participation in key industry events or tradeshows
  • Evaluate and distribute sample products at various stages throughout the product life cycle
  • Occasional lifting of display products within the product line is necessary (45 lbs. or less)
  • May need to assist in team lifting large screen displays or projectors (120 lbs. or less) at tradeshows or key industry events
  • Analyze potential partner relationships that support sales and marketing of the product line
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • 3+ years of product marketing experience
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High-tech industry experience
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) up to 20%
