Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Machine Operator II is responsible for operating machinery. Machine Operator I involve basic tasks related to machine operation and production support. Machine Operator I work under close supervision and follows established procedures to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Ability to start and stop the machine safely without supervision.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Ability to place raw material or unfinished parts and remove finished parts from machine safely.
  • Monitor machine operation.
  • Check part quality with designated measurement instruments.
  • Understand when and how to stop machine safely.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery, such as cleaning and lubrication.
  • Operate tools and machinery to aid the manufacturing process.
  • Perform periodic checks on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Oversee the machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments to improve results.
  • Produce quality parts according to manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Record all machine actions and log completed parts for record keeping.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Read and understand drawings
  • Ability to change machine Setting to accommodate different sizes and dimensions
  • Must have a further understanding of thread dimensions and thread terminology
  • Ability to guide Machine Operator I with ongoing obstacles
  • Understand Custom Pipe part number convention
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures (e.g. constant use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
  • Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to facers, lathes, CNC’s, and other mechanical machinery.
  • Willingness to work in shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English

Physical

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs,
  • Bend, stoop, and stand or walk for long periods of time.
