FACILITIES CLEANER - REGULAR PART-TIME
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The primary focus of this position is to perform daily facility and ground cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
This listing is representative of the duties and responsibilities of the position, but is not to be construed as all inclusive:
  1. Perform routine center cleaning and debris pickup of the grounds.
  2. Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
  3. Clean, and disinfect tables and bathroom fixtures along with appliances. Restock restrooms with paper supplies.
  4. Pick up debris and empty trash containers daily.
  5. Dust and polish furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  6. Set up/break down chairs and tables for meetings.
  7. Sweep walkways, mow lawn, and shovel snow as necessary. Maintain grounds in clean and neat condition.
  8. Sweep, mop, wash, wax, steam clean chairs, shampoo carpets, and polish floors.
  9. Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES:
Minimum requirements for this position are:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Two years of janitorial experience is required.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  4. Must maintain current Delaware Defensive Driving Certification.
  5. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  6. Must possess both oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  8. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to clients and other Agency employees.
REPORTING: This position reports to the Facilities Manager/ Facilities/ Trans. Director.
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Duties and functions will be performed mostly at the Long Neck Activity Center. The cleaner may be asked to service other nearby senior centers and perform local driving within the designated CHEER service area.

WORK HOURS: 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM Monday through Friday. Extended work hours are periodically required to support programs and activities
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time (20 hours per week) Non-Exempt
BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY: Regular part-time eligibility includes paid time off (PTO) based on hours worked and years of service. 403(b) Retirement plan – no match. Optional AFLAC insurance, legal shield insurance at cost.
