Job Description:

G-Sida General Services is currently seeking a Floor Care Technician to join our team. Based in Washington, D.C. This position primarily involves servicing secure government facilities during after-hours shifts, typically after 6 PM on weekdays and daytime on weekends. The Floor Care Technician will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various floors within these facilities, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques. Key responsibilities include thorough cleaning, polishing, and maintaining floors to high standards of hygiene and safety. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in floor care maintenance, including knowledge of different flooring materials and cleaning methods. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Floor Care Experience is Required
• Custodial Worker Experience is Required
• Must be able to pass security clearance and drug testing for designated contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize appropriate equipment and chemicals for vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.
• Strip, wax, and buff various types of floors according to contract specifications.
• Shampoo and clean various styles of carpeting according to contract specifications.
• Ensure all flooring meets cleanliness and safety standards.
• Conduct inspections to identify any issues or areas requiring attention.
• Follow established procedures for the proper care and maintenance of different types of flooring materials.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of various flooring surfaces.
• Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
• Dust horizontal surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms floor.
• Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mix cleaning solutions.
• Maintain issued equipment.
• Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure Compliance with OSHA Standards and Safety Regulations
• Adhere to Security Protocols and Procedures for Government Facilities
• Maintain Confidentiality and Security of Sensitive Information
• Participate in Training Sessions and Workshops as Required
• Assist with Other Duties as Assigned by Supervisor

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, as well as push and pull 50 pounds, for cleaning work areas and handling supplies and equipment.
• Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle, essential for tasks involving the use of ladders, stairs, cleaning low and high areas, benches, and corners.
• Proficiency in communication with supervisors and co-workers.
• Good vision, depth perception, and color perception for safety reasons and to distinguish between chemicals.
