As a Territory Outside Sales/Account Manager, you will manage and grow a territory selling industrial automation, electrical, and MRO solutions into manufacturing environments. This is a field-based, outside sales role requiring regular in-person client visits, territory prospecting, and relationship management. The position offers a base salary of $85,000 - $95,000 with uncapped commission and a company vehicle.THE COMPANY & CULTURE

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

The role focuses on selling industrial automation components, electrical products, MRO solutions, surplus and obsolete parts, and repair-related services. 

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY
  • Work From Home / Field-Based
  • Monday to Thursday: 90% in the field with customer visits
  • Friday: Morning in the field, afternoon working from home/office on administrative tasks
  • Primary Territory: Greater Toronto Area (from Mississauga to Oshawa, north to Newmarket)
  • May occasionally need to pick up items from clients to bring to the shop for repair
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • $85,000–$95,000 Base Salary 
  • $113,000 - $127K - first year OTE
  • Uncapped commission structure

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 3–7 years of B2B sales experience
  • 2+ years of technical product experience in PLCs, Motors, Drives, HVAC & Hydraulic Supply products 
  • Proven track record managing a defined sales territory with regular in-person client visits
  • Comfortable prospecting, cold calling, and developing new business within an assigned territory
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and pipeline management skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES
  • 50% account management, 25% new business development, 25% admin
  • Visit existing customers within the assigned territory
  • Prospect and cold call to develop new manufacturing accounts
  • Conduct in-person sales meetings and solution discussions
  • Follow up on opportunities, pricing, and open orders
  • Coordinate internally with the inside sales support team (who handle quoting and administrative work)
  • Leverage engineering and production manager resources for technical support
  • Maintain CRM activity, notes, and pipeline updates
  • Manage multiple clients and jobs simultaneously
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Approximately 2–3 times per year for training, trade shows, or client visits
SUPPORT & TRAINING
  • Week 1: Cross-training at the Stoney Creek branch to become familiar with the company and role
  • 3-Month Mentorship Program: Every new hire is assigned a dedicated mentor for shadowing and hands-on field training
  • Ongoing Training: Product training sessions with manufacturing lines, biweekly team meetings to share wins and challenges
  • Focus on mastering a couple of key brands rather than all 30,000+ manufacturer lines
  • Strong support from inside sales team, engineering website, production managers, and senior leadership (including the Area Sales Manager who has been with the company since the beginning)
