We are looking for a Senior iOS Mobile Developer to help advance the Mercedes me app for North America. This role will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of iOS experiences that enable Connected Car features and integrate the mobile app into Mercedes-Benz’s end-to-end customer experience. The candidate will build on a highly rated application and expand its capabilities to meet business goals, customer expectations, and North American market needs. 

The Senior iOS Mobile Developer will work within a fast-paced, cross-functional team alongside mobile engineers, backend developers, product owners, UX designers, QA, and global development partners. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design judgment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality mobile features across iPhone, Apple Watch, and connected vehicle experiences.

Relocation assistance (domestic or international) is not provided for this position.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain iOS features for the Mercedes me connect mobile app serving North American customers.
  • Lead iOS feature implementation architecture and strategy, aligning technical direction with product, UX, QA, backend, and global stakeholders.
  • Develop Connected Car experiences that integrate mobile app functionality with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, backend services, and the broader digital ecosystem.
  • Apply North American market expertise to identify customer needs, propose product improvements, and support changes within infotainment and connected-car domains.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, reliability, security, and responsiveness of the iOS application across supported devices, including mobile phones and wearables.
  • Collaborate with global teams to define, design, implement, and ship new features in alignment with business priorities and release timelines.
  • Take a proactive approach to root-cause analysis, incident resolution, defect prevention, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks, resolve bugs reported by QA, and improve code quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
  • Partner with Product and UX Design to clarify acceptance criteria, technical feasibility, customer experience requirements, and story readiness.
  • Participate actively in Scrum refinement and estimation sessions, accurately sizing work and delivering stories within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, pull request quality, documentation, and adherence to Mercedes-Benz development guidelines.
  • Break down pull requests into manageable increments to support efficient review, testing, and merge processes.
  • Review and approve pull requests from other developers, providing constructive feedback and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Support release readiness, app store publication activities, and compliance with Apple Developer guidelines.
  • Contribute to team KPIs and OKRs by focusing on prioritized roadmap items, delivery commitments, and measurable product outcomes.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and customer-experience analysis to recommend enhancements for the North American mobile app experience.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pairing, shadowing, technical guidance, and best-practice documentation.
  • Foster continuous learning, inclusive collaboration, and process improvement within a diverse engineering team.
  • Work effectively in a global environment with peers and partners in Germany, India, China, and other Mercedes-Benz development locations.
  • Utilize diverse opinions, cultural perspectives, and cross-functional expertise to improve product quality and customer value.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering consider: Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study
  • At least 5 years of native iOS development experience.
  • Strong Swift coding skills.
  • Solid understanding of mobile architectures, such as MVP, MVVM, and VIPER.
  • Solid understanding of concurrency using async/await, Dispatch, and Combine.
  • Experience in creating custom, pixel-perfect UIs.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms, such as Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing.
  • Hands-on experience with publishing apps to the App Store.
  • Solid understanding of Apple Developer guidelines.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Exceptional time management and ownership for assigned tasked and feature developments.
  • Frequent use of speech, vision, hearing, use of hands for computer use and presentations. Frequent sitting, standing and reaching with hands.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • R&D engineering experience with a focus on vehicles, Mercedes-Benz products, or connected mobility experiences.
  • Working knowledge of infotainment, telematics, digital vehicle services, and Connected Car ecosystems.
  • Experience developing customer-facing mobile features that integrate with backend services, cloud platforms, and vehicle systems.
  • Experience supporting North American market requirements, customer expectations, and regional product enhancements.
  • Backend development experience or strong ability to collaborate with backend engineering teams.
  • Track record of published mobile apps, preferably with high customer ratings or large active user bases.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, improving development practices, and contributing to team-level delivery goals.
