What is a shadow?

In a professional or educational context, 'shadows' are individuals who observe someone in their job role to learn about the responsibilities, tasks, and work environment associated with that position. Shadowing is typically done by students, interns, or new employees to gain firsthand insight into a particular career or job. It allows the shadow to ask questions, understand daily routines, and decide if the role aligns with their interests and skills. Shadowing experiences are usually short-term and non-intrusive, focusing on observation rather than direct participation.

What are common challenges faced by professionals in shadowing roles, and how can they maximize their learning experience?

Individuals participating in shadowing roles often encounter challenges such as limited hands-on involvement and the need to absorb information quickly in a fast-paced environment. To maximize the learning experience, it's helpful to prepare in advance by researching the role, actively taking notes, and asking thoughtful questions without disrupting workflow. Building rapport with the team and following up with reflective discussions can further enhance understanding and provide valuable insights into day-to-day responsibilities and workplace culture.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Security Guard, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Security Guard, you need vigilance, physical fitness, and a basic understanding of security protocols, often supported by a high school diploma and relevant certifications. Familiarity with surveillance systems, alarm systems, and incident reporting tools is typically required. Strong observation skills, integrity, and effective communication set outstanding security professionals apart. These skills and qualities are essential to ensure safety, prevent incidents, and maintain a secure environment.

District Sales Manager – Nashville & Atlanta

Walters Wedding Estates

Location: Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA

Travel: Regular travel between Nashville and Atlanta markets

Are you a high-impact sales leader who knows how to turn talented people into high-performing teams?

Walters Wedding Estates is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead sales performance across our Nashville and Atlanta markets. This role is ideal for a leader passionate about coaching and talent development, driving accountability, building strong teams, and creating a culture where people are motivated to win.

As District Sales Manager, you will own the performance and development of your Venue Specialist team. You’ll spend meaningful time in our venues—observing sales tours, coaching in real time, analyzing performance, removing barriers, and ensuring your team has the skills, tools, and accountability needed to succeed.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The right leader balances high expectations with high support and understands that sustainable results come from great people, strong processes, disciplined execution, and a winning culture.

What You’ll Do

Lead Sales Performance & Revenue Growth

Own sales performance, conversion, and revenue results across Nashville and Atlanta. Set clear expectations and hold Venue Specialists accountable to individual, venue, and district goals.

Identify performance gaps quickly and create actionable plans to improve results. Maintain a strong understanding of pipelines, tour volume, conversion, revenue, and key sales drivers.

Partner with senior sales leadership to execute company strategies, promotions, pricing initiatives, and growth opportunities.

Coach & Develop Talent

Make coaching and talent development a core focus of your leadership.

Spend consistent time in the field observing Venue Specialists and providing specific, actionable feedback.

Shadow tours and coach the team on discovery, value-building, objection handling, closing, and follow-up.

Conduct meaningful 1:1s focused on performance, development, accountability, and career growth.

Support onboarding and field training to help new Venue Specialists ramp successfully. Identify and develop future top performers and sales leaders.

Drive Accountability & Performance

Build a culture where expectations are clear, commitments matter, and results are owned.

Address performance concerns early through direct communication, coaching, and appropriate performance plans.

Celebrate strong performance while maintaining high standards across the team. Reinforce consistent sales behaviors around tours, follow-up, pipeline management, closing, and client communication.

Lead Through Data & Business Acumen

Analyze sales dashboards, conversion, pipelines, tour volume, revenue, and other KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Translate data into actionable strategies and coaching priorities.

Understand the business drivers behind district performance and make decisions that positively impact revenue.

Maintain strong CRM and pipeline discipline across the team.

Build a Winning Culture

Create an environment of energy, collaboration, accountability, positivity, and continuous improvement.

Build trust with your team while maintaining the leadership presence needed to drive performance.

Recognize wins, raise standards, and keep teams focused and motivated. Model professionalism, ownership, adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-focused mindset.

Build connection and consistency across the Nashville and Atlanta teams. Lead from the Field

Maintain a strong presence at venues throughout the district and travel regularly between Nashville and Atlanta.

Shadow Venue Specialist tours and provide real-time coaching and feedback.

Personally conduct sales tours on occasion when needed for coverage, team support, or to help the district achieve sales goals.

Ensure tour availability and sales coverage are aligned with business demand. Partner with Operations, Marketing, Planning, Concierge, and other departments to improve the client experience and drive results.

Support showcases, grand openings, special events, and other sales-driving initiatives. Build & Strengthen the Team

Partner with Recruiting and Sales leadership to identify, interview, hire, and onboard strong sales talent.

Maintain a high bar for talent while recognizing potential and coachability. Proactively identify staffing, performance, and development needs.

Support succession planning and the development of future sales leaders. What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate demonstrates:

Sales Leadership & Performance Management: Proven ability to lead a sales team, drive results, and manage performance effectively.

Coaching & Talent Development: A passion and demonstrated ability to develop salespeople through observation, feedback, training, and ongoing coaching. Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify opportunities and translate strategy into action. Accountability: Comfortable setting high standards, having difficult conversations, and following through.
