Work Schedule – Weekend Shift

  • Weekend schedule: Saturday and Sunday
  • 12-hour shifts each day
  • Work 24 hours and get paid for 30 hours

Position Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Surface Preparation Technician (Sandblasting) is responsible for preparing and treating metal surfaces through abrasive blasting processes to remove impurities, rust, and residues while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The incumbent contributes to preparing parts for subsequent manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and adjust blasting equipment according to specifications;
  • Perform sandblasting operations on metal parts in accordance with established standards;
  • Conduct visual inspections to verify the quality of treated surfaces;
  • Perform first-level maintenance and upkeep of blasting equipment;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Strictly follow all safety procedures and quality requirements;
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet production schedules and quality expectations;
  • Complete operational reports and documentation;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsEducation
  • High School Diploma (HSD) or equivalent;
  • Ideally 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of sandblasting techniques and equipment;
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards and procedures;
  • Ability to perform thorough visual quality inspections;
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written).
Personal Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Good physical condition and ability to work in a dusty environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently;
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and respect for procedures and instructions.
