We are looking for an experienced, talented industrial Sewing Machine Operator! We offer a great atmosphere where pay rates are increased as you produce more. We need positive, hard-working individuals to join the Leaders Cushion shop to help us create beautiful spaces for our customers and fulfil their dreams! We are committed to building a happy customer the first time, and our cushion shop finishing team is essential to our success!

Leaders Furniture is a 54-year-old, financially stable, multi-branch retail and wholesale furniture company currently looking for strong, self-motivated individuals to join our Team. We compete to win as a team every day. To be successful in this role, you must be proactive in meeting our production schedule and customers' expectations of quality.


Position Summary:

As a Sewer you will sew cut patterns and follow established procedures in the efficient operations of the sewing team.

Essential Duties:

  • Receive and follow the direction of the Sewing and Finishing Team Supervisor.
  • Operate various sewing machines.
  • Properly use and maintain your sewing machine.
  • Sew fabric for cushions and pillows according to cut patterns and established quality standards.
  • Maintain the workflow by order date.
  • Acknowledge and prioritize rush orders.
  • Inspect units and finished units for any flaws or structural defaults.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and maintains the workstation in a neat, clean orderly fashion.


Experience:

5 to 10 years working in a high-volume sewing position is highly desired.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of working while seated

Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25lbs
