Job Summary:

The spooling machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and engaging in feeding, spooling, and cutting product in order to fill the items in the work orders according to customer’s specifications.

Essential Functions:

  • Sets up and operates machine.
  • Observes, monitors, and adjusts machine as necessary.
  • Positions, adjusts, and feeds material manually to complete orders.
  • Reads work orders to determine product specifications or material requirements, such as form, temperature, and/or speed.
  • Loads spool of material onto machine.
  • Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunction.
  • Forecasts ahead to accommodate spooling schedule and daily orders.
  • Keeps area clean and tidy on a daily basis.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
