Our facility in Belleville is now looking for a Sewing Technician 1.
Job PurposeCompletes manufacturing customer orders by sewing covers and accessory items according to established procedures.
Pay: $17.50/hour
Key Tasks
Essential Job Results
Completes Customer orders by:
Cutting and sewing material for covers, insert pads, heal pads, and accessory items. Possessing and executing complete knowledge of sewing policies and procedures.
Maintains quality service by:
Altering and repairing product according to department policies, reporting quality and maintenance problems to the assigned supervisor.
Maintains safe and clean work environment by:
Operating all machinery in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any safety hazards to assigned supervisor or safety manager, complying with all safety and quality policies, practices and procedures. Sweeping, vacuuming, and maintaining organization of work area, and support of Company 5S initiatives.

Your Background
High School diploma or GED required.Minimum of one (1) year sewing experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Prioritize tasks. Must utilize first-in-first-out (FIFO) when performing work duties.
Intermediate knowledge of sewing and sewing machine operation, must be able to follow oral
and written instructions, ability to measure accurately, ability to use electric knife and scissors. Must be skill checked on 8 positions within the assigned department.
