Job description

The Sewing Specialist will provide alterations, fittings and repairs for employees who require uniform apparel items.

Duties:

  • Complete alterations and repairs to uniform apparel items.

  • Assist with fittings for employees who require uniform apparel items.

  • Maintain department records accurately and consistently.

  • Inspects items for wear and defects, anticipate needed stock and supplies, and notify Supervisor of shortages.

  • Assists in other areas of the Wardrobe department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 1 year sewing experience required.

  • Experience with commercial sewing equipment, surger, and blind stitch hemmer preferred.

  • Must be organized, flexible, and able to handle multiple priorities in pressure situations.

  • Must be able to read and understand English.
