Job description

Seven Star Emergency Medicine Physician

Position Overview:

KPC Hospitals is actively seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to join a dynamic, physician-led group serving five diverse community emergency departments across Southern California. The group offers flexible locations in Orange County, the Inland Empire, and the High Desert, each with unique patient volumes and acuity levels. There are teaching opportunities for our Hemet location only for our residents. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with high earning potential and numerous growth opportunities in clinical practice, leadership, and specialized EM skill areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive emergency care including:
    • Medical screening exams (MSEs)
    • Patient history and physical exams
    • Diagnostic testing, medication administration, and follow-up
    • Emergency procedures and consults
    • Dispositions: discharges, admissions, and transfers
  • Practice in accordance with the groupโ€™s core philosophy: โ€œAlways do whatโ€™s right for the patient.โ€
  • Opportunity to manage moderate trauma, especially in remote settings (non-trauma centers).
  • Optional involvement in operations, quality committees, or leadership roles.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (must certify within 1.5 years of graduation) or equivalent experience.
  • Valid California Medical License, DEA, NPI, and 5150 certifications
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification
  • X-waiver for MAT (preferred but not required)
  • 1โ€“2 years of post-residency community ED experience preferred
  • Proficient in emergency procedures and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS)
  • Strong communication, ethics, and team-oriented attitude
