Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a Vice President Registered Plans & Estate Settlements to join our team. The successful incumbent will deliver exceptional service to CG's Advisor's clients in their trust, estate, POA, and Registered Plan administrative services by combining strong relationship management, deep technical expertise, and sound business judgment. The Vice President Registered Plans & Estate Settlements will oversee CG's Registered Plan's Operations Team nationally, collaborating closely with our Corporate Services and Technology partners to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and processing efficiencies in our processing and client focussed administrative services.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Trustee, our peers, colleagues and industry professionals to review, digest and implement all CRA regulations, as they relate to our various Registered Products for our predominantly Canadian Retail client base.
  • Adhere to all CRA & Trustee reporting obligations;
  • Work with our vendor relationships to implement enhancements or regulated changes to our Registered Plan recordkeeping and processing software;
  • Deep knowledge of documentation requirements, as they relate to Registered Plans & their Estate settlements;
  • Have a strong understanding, and the ability to maintain clean monthly reconciliation of CRA remittance Control accounts;
  • Through coaching & strong client service leadership, continue the growth & development of our Registered Plan and Estates Admin team in their pursuit to provide exemplary customer service to our Advisors & clients;
  • Organize resource requirements and prioritize workload according to seasonal volumes;
  • Represent Canaccord Genuity on industry committees and network with industry peers to gain competitive insights and best practices.;
  • Work closely with internal, Trustee, ESDC & regulatory auditors as required;
  • Set and adhere to personal objectives for yourself, your team and the department;
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Manages trust, agency or probate accounts in the role of Agent for trustee.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business goals.
  • Oversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
  • Oversees the maintenance of Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Reviews the service offering for effectiveness, considers industry trends and implements enhancements and adapting SLA's as required.
  • Meets high-quality service standards to maximize relationship retention and growth.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Post graduate studies, the CSC and professional designations in trust and estate law are considered great assets.
  • Experience in working directly with CRA and a Trustee;
  • Well-rounded knowledge of all facets of the securities industry;
  • Demonstrated expertise in Trust Administration, including trust tax, trust accounting, with a strong understanding of fiduciary legislation, estates and applicable tax regulations.
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, utilizing data driven decisions to manage your business;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining a keen attention to detail;
  • Ambitious, hardworking, positive and adaptable to change;
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and leadership skills;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Broad-minded strategic, innovative outlook;
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, CoPilot);
