Job description

JOB SUMMARY: 

Our Production Associate is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide variety of tasks in order to produce high quality product that conforms with customer specifications. The primary purpose of this job is to be in charge of the correct quality of materials and the end products produced by the company to safely and cost-effectively achieve performance targets. Production Associate are responsible for assisting in duties related to keeping the line running smoothly. Crown Bakeries' Vision, Mission and Values should be carried out while performing these important functions 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Complete various production tasks as assigned by Production Operator. 
  • Clears pan jams from line, removes and adds baking pans as needed. 
  • Troubleshoots basic causes of line stops and restarts production. 
  • Assist the production operator in line startups and changeovers. 
  • Oversee product quality and ensure product being produced in in compliance with customer specifications. 
  • Maintain high rates of production as set by the Operator and Production Supervisor. 
  • Separates rework from raw dough waste whenever possible to minimize waste. 
  • Monitor and deliver side trimmings to mixer; notify operator when side trimmings exceed acceptable rates. 
  • Removes all out-of-spec product from the line and notifies Production Supervisor of all non-conforming product or processes on the line. 
  • Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment. 
  • Attends Monthly required safety meetings when applicable. 
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. 
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed or directed by Production Supervisor and Manager, to support Crown Bakeries' business objectives. 
  • Plan, problem solve, foster healthy peer relations, and motivate others. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies. 
  • Ensures compliance with all GMP, food hygiene and safety standards. 
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest harborage. 
  • Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully understand the processes 
  • Able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process and technical learning, and quality decision. 
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Reach above shoulder height. 
  • Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift. 
  • Work in a noisy environment for length of shift 
  • Able to stand for long periods of time 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

This job operates in a production environment. The employee is frequently exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.
