General Description
This is an in-office position (non remote).


This is a design-first role focused primarily on graphic design production, with secondary responsibilities in video shooting, editing, and post-production. The position will serve as the internal lead for video projects; however, video is not currently a full-time workload. Provide tactical support for marketing initiatives across grocery, hardware, QSR, and convenience formats. assigned retail formats.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Graphic Design & Production Art

  • Design and update production-ready assets including flyers, posters, presentations, business cards, direct mail, outdoor billboards, digital graphics, and other marketing materials.
  • Develop layouts for printed, digital, and video-related assets as assigned.
  • Update existing design templates and create new layouts while maintaining brand standards and visual consistency.
  • Shoot video content for promotions, marketing campaigns, press releases, social media, and internal communications.

Video Production & Editing

  • Edit and produce video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, & Canva.
  • Perform post-production tasks including color correction, basic audio editing, formatting, and exporting final video files.
  • Assist with production planning including creative direction, storyboarding, location scouting, and shoot preparation.
  • Set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment as needed.
  • Create basic motion graphics or animated graphics when needed; motion graphics experience is preferred but not required.
  • Prepare, package, and review approved artwork with print vendors to ensure accuracy and quality print production.
  • Support creative requests including mock-ups, social media graphics, promotional materials, presentations, and internal communication assets.
  • Ensure all creative materials are accurate, organized, and delivered according to project timelines.

Marketing & Creative Support

  • Work closely with the Marketing Managers & Directors to execute creative concepts, campaign needs, and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Houchens departments and subsidiaries to provide creative support as needed.
  • Support marketing initiatives through clean, professional, and effective visual communication.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for print, digital, and video projects.
  • Take creative direction and feedback constructively while revising work efficiently.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced retail marketing environment.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Multimedia Design, Video Production, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in graphic design, multimedia design, video production, or a related creative role preferred; recent graduates with a strong portfolio will also be considered.
  • Experience with graphic design production, print layout, digital design, and/or marketing creative preferred.
  • Experience shooting and editing video content preferred.
  • Portfolio required, including graphic design samples and video work


Kowledge

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro preferred; After Effects experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Canva to provide brand templates for content teams
  • Proficient in design principles including layout, typography, color, and brand consistency
  • Experience with video production including composition, lighting, audio, storytelling, and post-production workflows
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams, take feedback constructively, and revise work efficiently
  • Ability to work independently while supporting creative and marketing team goals
  • Familiarity with social media content formats, motion graphics, photography, and print production preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with advertising production systems a plus
