About the Role
We are seeking an Industrial Design Intern for Fall 2026 to support our in-house design team in developing innovative product concepts, contributing to the full design thinking process from ideation through prototyping.

This position plays an important role in supporting Hamilton Beach Brands’ continued growth, innovation, and operational excellence. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional partners and contributes to key business initiatives that support the company’s long-term strategy.
This position is a hybrid role in Glen Allen, VA and reports to the Supervisor, Senior Industrial Design.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with our in-house Industrial Design group supporting new product design projects including concept design and development, universal design evaluation, on-product graphic design, Visual Brand Language/Color Material Finish specification and documentation.
  • Contribute to Design Thinking process from immersion and ideation to prototyping.
  • Create photorealistic presentation renderings and hand sketched concepts for marketing and research requirements
  • Positive, passionate and enthusiastic while applying a solid design process

What We're Looking For

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial design.
  • Position is full-time and will be available from mid-late August 2026-December 2026.
  • Junior year or higher by the start date of internship.
  • Excellent sketching and form giving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Solidworks and Keyshot is preferred
  • Knowledge in 3D animation or UX/UI design would be a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Interest/Experience in housewares industry is preferred
  • Cooking/food related interests and/or experiences is preferred
