The Construction Layout Technician is responsible for performing construction layout, verifying positional accuracy, and ensuring all work aligns with project specifications. This role requires proficiency in surveying techniques, construction drawings, and quality control to support field operations effectively.

Technical Responsibilities
Perform project hub, benchmarks, points layout, as-builts, and other layout-related tasks.
Download, evaluate, and verify survey and as-built data for accuracy.
Review, interpret, and apply construction drawings, design documents, and as-built records.
Calculate, upload, and stake/pin/feather/paint positional control points.
Ensure and verify all work is performed per approved plans and specifications.
Assist in the QA/QC process in partnership with the field team.
Operational Responsibilities
Comply with and provide required reports and records, including daily reports, timesheets, pre-task plans, and equipment inspections, etc.
Occasionally supervise and train workers and trades people.
Responsible for supervising, maintaining and managing the use of layout and survey equipment.
Maintain a booking schedule and identify and report scheduling conflicts to the project team immediately.
Provide a high level of customer service and create a positive working environment on project sites and in the office.
The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.
At least five years of experience in construction-related layout/surveying.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
Experience with CAD, Revit, Trimble, or other industry-standard software.
Skilled in operating a robotic total station (RTS).
Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints.
Strong organizational, time management, and leadership abilities.
Aptitude in math and problem-solving.
High school diploma or equivalent; a trade certification is a plus
Must complete CPR, first aid certification, and OSHA 10 training within six months of hire.
Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced construction environment.
