QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

1. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree or 60 credit hours of college preferred

2. EXPERIENCE: Successful experience in a school environment or similar field.ย 

3. SKILLS: Communications, classroom management; knowledge and implementation of student educational plans; records management, ability to follow directions

4. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Be able to communicate well and to work successfully with students, staff, teachers, and principal.

Primary Function:

The MTSS Paraprofessional supports the implementation of academic and behavioral interventions for students receiving services through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.ย 

Working under the direction of licensed staff and as part of a collaborative school team, the paraprofessional assists students in developing the skills needed to make progress and succeed in the school environment.

Support may be provided to individual students or small groups across multiple settings, including general education classrooms, intervention spaces, and other designated learning environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic or behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
  • Implement intervention plans and strategies under the direction of licensed staff.
  • Reinforce academic, behavioral, social, and self-regulation skills.
  • Collect and record student progress data.
  • Communicate student progress and concerns with appropriate staff.
  • Assist with student routines, transitions, materials, and other assigned supports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures.
