Industrial Services Technician I Position Summary

The Industrial Services Technician I supports the repair, refurbishment, assembly, inspection, testing, and restoration of customer-owned industrial equipment and components. Projects may include renewable energy components, industrial equipment, fabricated assemblies, and other customer-owned products serviced by Frontier Technologies. Working under the direction of experienced technicians and site leadership, this position performs hands-on mechanical work while supporting quality, safety, and operational excellence across a wide variety of customer projects.


Because Frontier Technologies operates as a high-mix, low-volume industrial service organization, every customer project is unique. Services Technicians are expected to develop proficiency across multiple repair, refurbishment, finishing, inspection, and material handling processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.


Since Frontier technologies acts as a job shop, Industrial Service Technicians perform various tasks. We are looking for mechanically inclined, problem solvers to join our team.

 

Industrial Services Technician I Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, disassemble, inspect, repair, refurbish, and restore customer-owned equipment and components in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
  • Perform mechanical repairs, component replacement, refurbishment, and equipment upgrades in accordance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, OEM requirements, and work instructions.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify equipment defects and support repair activities.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prepare, finish, and package customer components through grinding, sanding, surface preparation, sandblasting, industrial painting, coating, and related production processes.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other approved material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Inspect completed work, maintain accurate production documentation, and support compliance with customer specifications and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to complete customer repair and refurbishment projects safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Support multiple customer repair and refurbishment projects while adapting to changing customer priorities and production schedules.
  • Work overtime and travel occasionally to customer locations, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager, General Manager, or designated leadership.

 

Industrial Services Technician I Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn industrial repair and refurbishment processes.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and basic technical documentation.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and adapt to changing customer priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

 

Industrial Services Technician I Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, mechanical assembly, equipment repair, fabrication, or related trades.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or rigging equipment.
  • Experience with industrial painting, sandblasting, coatings, or refurbishment processes.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy, aerospace, defense, or other industrial equipment.
  • OSHA 10 or other industrial safety certifications are a plus.
