 What’s The Job? 

Title: Light Maintenance Technician 

Location:  Eddyville, Iowa

Wage: up to $21.53/hr (DOE)  
Hours:  Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm

What Will I Be Doing?  

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:  

  • Team member must be able to work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. 

  • Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures 

  • This position may require moderate supervision and follow-up. 

  • Sanitation and cleaning consist of washing down, shoveling, and sweeping, cleaning screens with the aid of respirator. 

  • Maintain adherence to work schedule and work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shifts as required. 

  • Assist in some maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as (mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal). 

  • Must have working knowledge and be trained to operate the following: skid steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools. Clean screens and wear a respirator. 

  • “Effectively” communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations. 

  • Maintain adherence to the published work schedule and be available to work overtime as required by demands of the job. 

  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment when required by the job 

  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints. 

  • Work all shifts including holidays and weekends when demanded by the job. 

  • Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer. 

  • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures. 

  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning. 

  • Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives 

  • Meet physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior to employment. 

  • Perform assigned tasks in a safety, effective, and efficient manner. 

  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion. 

  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

  • Experience: 0-2 years in industrial cleaning desirable

  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner   

  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties

  • Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
