Job description

Job Title: Marine Forklift Operator

Location: Duxbury, MA

Employment: Full-Time, Hourly, 40 hours weekly + Overtime

Compensation Range: Depending on qualifications and experience

Position Summary

Bayside Marine, a historic waterfront marina located in the heart of Duxbury, MA, provides boat storage, daily boat launch, mooring maintenance and on-water fueling for its customers. Bayside operates a full-service marine center for Yamaha outboard and Grady White boats and we are looking for a professional Marine Forklift operator with boatyard experience to join our team.

Forklift Operations

  • Safely operate marine fork trucks including Taylor 550 and a Wiggins Marina Bull alongside hydraulic trailers and trucks to launch boats from 13 to 32 feet.
  • Support service department technicians by moving boats to service bays and loading outboard motors and mooring systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections on all fork trucks, trailers, and equipment for maintenance and maintain cleanliness of fork trucks and company vehicles. Immediately report damage to boats and equipment to marina office.

Boatyard Operations

  • Oversee the organization of boat stands, blocks and plywood and maintain cleanliness of boatyard removing all trash and debris.
  • Report on any fire or safety hazards and non-compliance of OSHA and EPA regulations and enforce boatyard safety and adhere to all policies and regulatory standards.
  • In the off season all-hands assist with a variety of boatyard activities such as boat washing, bottom painting, shrink wrap, floating dock removal, and transporting and securing boats.

General Qualifications

  • Possess and maintain MA fork truck hoisting license, DOT medical card, and driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating marine forklifts.
  • Effective communication skills, a positive attitude and motivation to work with a team.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to heavy equipment, fuel, and marine chemicals.
  • Drug-free and smoke-free workplace — no smoking, vaping, tobacco, alcohol, or recreational drug use permitted on premises.
