The City of Surprise is a fast-growing community where strong financial leadership is essential to turning plans into reality. As a Management Analyst you'll play a central role in developing and managing department budgets, analyzing complex financial data for the Water Resource Management Department. This role is ideal for someone with strong skills in Excel and database management, for purposes of reconciling data from multiple sources and translating complex financial information into clear deliverables.

SUMMARY Incumbents are responsible for providing research and complex support to the management staff of the Water Resource Management department.

Incumbents work closely with Business Services Process Manager in the areas of technology, business process, data gathering, and analysis. Responsibilities include assisting department managers with billing, account reconciliation, inventory control, invoicing, and tracking of their respective programs/assets, preparing and analyzing monthly operational, asset and compliance reports, overseeing the department purchase order and requisition process; creating and processing council agenda items; assisting in budget preparation; assisting with hiring Department employees, conducting new employee orientations, and acting as department liaison with the Human Resources Department and City Clerk's Office; Overseeing and maintaining the Department policy manuals and other Department documents; and researching and resolving complaints and customer service requests. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree and two years directly-related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description.
