Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director of Foundation, Marketing & Public Relations serves as the organization's executive leader for strategic marketing, communications, public relations, philanthropy, patient experience, and community engagement.

This executive is responsible for protecting and enhancing the reputation of Cass Regional Medical Center while advancing philanthropic initiatives that support the organization's mission. The position provides leadership for Marketing, Public Relations, Foundation operations, Patient Satisfaction initiatives, the Patient Advisory Council, community outreach, and volunteer engagement while working collaboratively with executive leadership, physicians, staff, the Foundation Board of Directors, community partners, and the organization's contracted marketing agencies.

The Executive Director develops and executes comprehensive marketing strategies that support organizational growth, strengthens the Cass Regional Medical Center brand, oversees fundraising initiatives, cultivates donor relationships, leads community engagement efforts, and ensures consistent, transparent communication with patients, employees, physicians, media partners, and the public.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community relations strategy aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
  • Represent Cass Regional Medical Center at civic, business, healthcare, educational, and community organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local government officials, elected leaders, school districts, colleges, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and community partners.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that improve community health and expand organizational awareness.
  • Coordinate hospital participation in community events, health fairs, educational seminars, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with local businesses, foundations, service organizations, and corporate partners to support hospital initiatives and Foundation fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to promote community education programs focused on prevention, wellness, and population health.
  • Strengthen relationships with physicians, medical staff, volunteers, donors, patients, and community advocates to enhance community trust and engagement.
  • Promote the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities through meaningful community involvement.
  • Identify emerging community needs and communicate opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Cass Regional Medical Center while strengthening the organization's reputation throughout the region.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Five or more years of progressive executive leadership experience in healthcare, nonprofit, marketing, communications, philanthropy, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor development, or nonprofit leadership
  • Experience leading marketing, branding, or public relations initiatives
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong financial management and strategic planning experience

CFRE certification is preferred.
