Server - Big Chill Beach Club

Summary of Position: How would you like to serve tables surrounded by killer 360° views of the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay? If that sounds like it’s up your alley, we’ve got the perfect spot for you at Big Chill Beach Club - Bethany Beach’s premier oceanfront restaurant located in the Delaware Seashore State Park. A Big Chill Beach Club server is a cocktail, beer, and food expert performing a live show daily! They are responsible for making our guests feel they have escaped to a perfect beach destination, and showing our guests how to “eat, drink, and be chill”. Each Big Chill Beach Club server is responsible for creating an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience for all of our guests. Come Chill with us!


Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Provide a Tour of our Menus (Food and Drink). Highlight features and suggest specific menu items
  • Do not be “just” an order taker. Answer questions appropriately. Take orders accurately
  • Be a storyteller, make suggestions and guide the customer
  • Be aware of guest’s special needs, requests, and desires
  • Share guests requests, needs, likes, and dislikes with the team and management
  • Be a guest recognition expert. Know our regulars by name
  • Welcome and greet guests. Smile. Make eye contact. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
  • Know everything about our craft beers, signature drinks and food items
  • Enter orders in our point-of-sale system quickly and accurately
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • Be interesting. Be yourself. Have fun
  • Monitor and observe all guests' dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
  • Constantly maintain a clean table and environment, maintain clean service areas, and clear amp; reset dirty tables when appropriate
  • Always sell dessert
  • Promote the restaurant, inform guests about upcoming BCBC events
  • Prepare the final bill, present a check to the guest, accept payment, accurately process credit card charges or make change
  • Provide appropriate farewells to all guests
  • Be the hardest working member of the team
  • Perform more than your share of side work at the start and end of each shift
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
  • Must Enjoy the Ride, be a team player, and live the brand and be a brand ambassador, making decisions in the best interest of Big Chill Beach Club every time
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years relevant experience required; preferably in a fast-paced restaurant
  • Must have an outgoing, upbeat, friendly personality
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, preferably over 21 years.
  • Must possess a current ABC Card
  • Have advanced knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
  • Be able to work in an active environment that includes standing, walking, and going up and down flights of stairs for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed; ability to balance personal and professional life
