Job Summary

  • Greet, kindly direct, and seat guests at assigned tables based on reservations and walk-in seating.
  • Maximize guest seating options and revenues by diligently managing the reservations program (Open Table).
  • Contact guests as needed to move, confirm, or adjust reservations.
  • Support servers and bartenders with service needs in between seating guests and after all reservations have been seated.
  • Assist with promptly resetting tables to standard.
  • Communicate any reservations notes to server assigned to table (celebrations, preferences, etc.)
  • Complete all daily side work tasks efficiently and thoroughly. Set up host stand, clean menus, light candles, and complete side work tasks.
  • Take in person and over the phone to-go orders. Process payment securely, collect final bill, and coordinate handoff to guest.
  • Restock host stand with clean menus, pens, charged tablet, trash removal, etc. daily. Keep host area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Be proactive in seeking out additional duties such as wiping down menus, sweeping, cleaning kitchen doors, etc.
  • Check out with manager once shift is complete.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Practice conscious knowledge of food allergies and safety in preparation.
  • Professionally handle guest complaints, solve problems, apologize/emphasize during guest complaints, follow up. Communicate any elevated complaints that could not be resolved to Food & Beverage management.
  • Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.

Compensation

This is an hourly position with the opportunity for part time to full time hours and a base wage of $12.50 per hour. Final compensation package offer is subject to change based on a variety of complex factors unique to each candidate including experience, education, skill set, and applicable certifications. 

Key Skills & Experience Required 

  • Prior experience in a restaurant setting preferred, but not required
  • Able to complete a satisfactory background check
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for food and beverage
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to walk the property frequently
  • Ability to move up and down stairs
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs                             
  • Ability to regularly move and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as typing, phone handling, polishing, and rolling silverware
