What are some common challenges servers face during peak hours, and how can they effectively manage them?

During busy meal times, servers often handle multiple tables, special requests, and time-sensitive orders simultaneously. Managing these challenges requires strong organizational skills, clear communication with kitchen staff and fellow servers, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic food safety or alcohol service certifications are often required. Exceptional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help servers create positive dining experiences and handle guest concerns gracefully. These skills ensure efficient service, satisfied guests, and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
