IMU dining runs all dining operations in IMU, including the Tudor Room, Sugar and Spice, The Vault Pub, and the Globe. IMU dining staff works closely with the hotel and catering teams, as well as IU's retail dining, to embody the Hoosier spirit through every customer interaction.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities

• Serves guests during service hours, assuring a memorable guest service experience while displaying an impeccable guest service attitude.
• Assists with dining room setup/close down and cash closeout.
• Maintains standards of presentation and quality of service.
• Attends server trainings.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required

• Serving experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required

• Ability to obtain Alcohol Serving Permit within 10 days from date of hire
• Ability to complete Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission Server Training Course within 30 days from date of hire

OTHER

Working Conditions / Demands
This position requires tasks typically associated with food service work and cleaning/ware washing. It involves periods of both sedentary work and times of frequent movement about the workspace. Using commercial kitchen equipment and tools, moving supplies weighing from 20 - 50 pounds, and effective communication skills are necessary. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. This role also will work indoors around both hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. This role involves handling meat and plant-based food products as well as a variety of ingredients that may include some or all of the top 9 allergens in the preparation of menu items and during the course of cleaning and ware-washing tasks. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary
$12.75 per hour
Work Hours

• Minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday - Sunday.
• Capped at 29 hours per week.
• Flexible work schedule with ability to work late hours.
• Management reserves the right to adjust work hours to accommodate special meals and events.
