GENERAL SUMMARY:

Full time position

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Dining Services with the coordination, seating, appearance and maintenance of the banquet area and server stations and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered.

  PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

 Essential Job Duties: 

1. In the absence of the Associate Director of Dining Services, supervises the physical appearance of the banquet room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes, and lighting.

 2. Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner. 

3. Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met. 

4. Responsible for on-the-job training for banquet staff including workplace safety procedures. 

5. Records meal counts, reservations, and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems. 

6. Confers with Associate Director of Dining Services regarding banquet room status. 

7. Assigns side-work pre & post shift. 

8. Assigns banquet servers to workstations.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. High School graduate or equivalent.

 2. A minimum of two years Lead Server/Trainer experience within a fine restaurant, club, hotel or similar institution. 

3. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills.

 4. Available seven (7) days per week for work schedule. 

5. Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests. 

6. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.

7. State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required.
