The property offers 73 guest rooms and 12 single-level penthouse residences, all with sweeping views of Idaho's Rocky Mountains. Overview

Located at the southeast corner of Main Street and River Street East-the gateway to downtown Ketchum, Idaho-and just minutes from Bald Mountain's River Run base, this exceptional property will debut as Sun Valley's first luxury hotel and for-sale residence offering. As part of the Viceroy team, you'll help bring our signature experiential hospitality to one of North America's most iconic, year-round mountain destinations.

The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service across all resort dining outlets, including restaurant, lounge, cafe, pool, banquet, and special event operations. This role is expected to provide attentive, personalized, and efficient service while creating memorable guest experiences that align with the luxury standards of The Observatory Sun Valley and Viceroy Hotels & Resorts.

Servers are expected to be flexible and cross-utilized throughout multiple food & beverage outlets based on operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive, friendly, courteous, and professional service to all guests and team members.
  • Deliver food and beverage service in an efficient, knowledgeable, and personalized manner.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, beverages, wine, cocktails, and daily specials across all outlets.
  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system and complete all cashiering and payment procedures.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive, luxury-level hospitality throughout the dining experience.
  • Ensure tables, stations, and service areas remain clean, organized, stocked, and presentation-ready at all times.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties in accordance with department standards and assigned checklists.
  • Pre-bus and reset tables efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and service flow throughout service periods.
  • Consistently upsell menu items, beverages, and promotional offerings when appropriate.
  • Support banquet, catering, pool, lounge, cafe, and restaurant operations as business demands require.
  • Assist fellow team members and other outlets to ensure overall operational success and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of resort information, outlet offerings, and local recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
  • Follow all food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and pre-shift lineups.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming and uniform standards.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction and promptly communicate guest concerns or operational issues to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food & beverages.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
