Position Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. They analyze user needs and develop software solutions. They will design software or customize software to optimize operational efficiency and provide technical leadership for projects. In addition to core software development, this role serves as a key innovator by integrating AI-assisted engineering workflows, Agentic AI, and conversational interfaces into our technical architecture and day-to-day operations.

What you will do:

  • Develops programs or scripts according to specification and established coding standards.

  • Design and implement conversational and agentic solutions. Drive the adoption of advanced AI-assisted development tools, skills, CLIs, and MCP servers across the dev team.

  • Conduct continuous research and development into emerging technologies, evaluating their business value and training/up-skilling other engineering teams across the organization to adopt these technologies effectively.

  • Analyzes, reviews and tests for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.

  • Analyzes current business systems, determines scope and estimates for tasks related to issues to be resolved.

  • Performs integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability and optimal performance.

  • Constructs various software components and validates completeness and quality.

  • May coordinate development efforts, and coordinate and assist with codes reviews.

  • Establishes and enforces coding standards for programs or scripts.

  • Mentors Associate or Intermediate software engineers.

  • Analyzes and resolves program/script or system failures.

  • Facilitates formal code reviews for programs/scripts.

  • Performs software system maintenance, support and requirement analysis.

  • Assists in designing GUI and software components.

  • May participate in on-call support rotation.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

When you will work:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with an on call requirement.

  • Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor Degree Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred

  • Five or more years of related software development experience required.

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java with backend object-oriented frameworks using dependency injection (Spring Boot) required.

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing required.

  • Practical familiarity or fluency with AI-aided engineering workflows (going beyond simple chat models to using custom skills, CLIs, or MCP servers) strongly preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with Python for scripting or AI/agentic development preferred.

  • Proficiency in cloud and containerized development (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker/Podman) preferred.

  • Experience with Dialogflow CX, Actions on Google, or conversational/voice AI platforms preferred.

  • Experience building and deploying Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers preferred.

  • Frontend framework experience (TypeScript, Angular, or React) preferred.

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.

  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation, and ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
