In this role, you will combine deep expertise in quality engineering, platform validation, automation strategy, and release readiness with strong execution leadership. You will ensure complex platform initiatives are delivered on time, meet production-grade quality standards, and provide exceptional customer reliability and operational resilience. You will partner closely with engineering, cloud, infrastructure, and product teams to translate technical requirements into scalable validation strategies while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

As an Engineering (Quality Assurance) Manager, you will lead the quality strategy, validation architecture, and release readiness for mission-critical server and FileMaker platform technologies. You will own the end-to-end quality lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure capabilities are delivered. Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of leadership experience managing technical quality assurance or platform validation teams.
Experience with the FileMaker platform, including Server, Pro, WebDirect, and Data API.
Knowledge of modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including hybrid deployment models.
Knowledge of security validation, compliance standards, and enterprise operational requirements such as SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA.
Experience transitioning teams from traditional QA to AI-driven workflows and validating complex, multi-step AI reasoning systems.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and navigate cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
Ability to coach and develop team members while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages diverse perspectives and collaboration.
Design autonomous frameworks using self-healing scripts and AI-First Automation tools to drastically reduce manual maintenance and speed up delivery.
Build specialized evaluation harnesses to measure hallucination rates, and the reliability of output.
Leverage AI-powered tools to rapidly generate comprehensive test suites and edge cases directly from code and user stories.
Establish rigorous testing standards for bias detection, safety, and regulatory compliance to ensure ethical AI deployments across the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, platform validation, or systems testing.
5+ years of experience leading technical quality assurance teams supporting enterprise-scale or client-facing systems.
Experience validating scalable architectures across Server, Client, WebDirect, APIs, and cloud or on-premises deployments.
Experience delivering releases on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
Experience with test planning, automation strategies, regression management, and release readiness processes.
Experience with performance, scalability, failover, backup, recovery, and resiliency testing.
Experience preparing and presenting technical quality risks and release status reports to cross-functional stakeholders.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,600 and $319,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
