Food Server (Silver Reef Craft & Kitchen) Category: Food and Beverage Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: General Manager Job Description The Food Server is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, entering orders quickly and in proper sequence, serving food and beverages for guests in their section as well as other sections, coordinating with the kitchen to ensure timely service and quality of the food, and always providing the highest quality of service to the customer. Performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management. This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or District Manager.

Responsibilities Greeting and seating guests. Explaining the menu to guests and making recommendations.

Taking food and beverage orders, noting any allergies guests may have, and accurately entering them into the ordering system. Communicating effectively with kitchen staff. Balancing dishes, drinks trays, and bringing them to the correct tables.

Providing attentive service to guests by refilling drinks as needed. Providing excellent customer service to guests by checking in during meals. Performing duties such as setting tables, polishing glasses, folding napkins, and replenishing condiments as necessary.

Skills / Experience Requires at least six months of experience serving in the food and beverage industry. Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages to guests. Demonstrates the ability to effectively interact with guests and fellow team members in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.

Works well in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation practices. Comprehension of the English language both written and oral.

Physical Requirements Work outdoors less than 25% of the time. Must possess the ability to lift, bend, and kneel. Must be able to stand and walk swiftly for long periods of time while carrying large service trays.

Ability to work in environments that can be smoky, noisy, hot, cold, or humid. Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance and lift 50 pounds with assistance. This job description is not an exhaustive list of all functions required for this position.
