Job Title: Server

Summary:  

The purpose of this position is to interact with guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining. Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting providing excellent customer service
  • Take food and beverage orders
  • Answering questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverages
  • Stay updated on current menu choices including food and bar specialties, menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
  • Understand and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant
  • Assist in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the kitchen staff
  • Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, napkins, refilling glasses
  • Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change
  • Takeout orders as needed
  • Maintain a clean and efficient working environment
  • Clear communication and teamwork
  • Responsible alcohol serving and abiding policies
  • Setting up and cleaning party events 
  • Complete sidework duties

Physical Demands:  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In this position, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear clearly. Frequent walking and standing for long periods of time. Regularly lift/carry up to 25 pounds including trays and dishes. Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions, if not an undue hardship to the company.
