Professionals in this role work with serialization software, regulatory guidelines, and supply chain teams to prevent counterfeiting and improve product traceability.

What does a serialization specialist do?

Serialization specialists are responsible for configuring and maintaining systems that assign, track, and verify serial numbers on pharmaceutical products throughout the manufacturing and distribution process. On a typical day, they may collaborate with IT, quality assurance, and production teams to troubleshoot data integration issues, ensure regulatory compliance, perform system upgrades, and conduct audits or validation of serialized packaging lines. They also work closely with external partners or regulatory authorities to meet evolving serialization requirements. This role requires balancing technical tasks with cross-departmental communication to keep supply chains running smoothly and ensure product integrity.
