Job Overview

Septic Technician needed to accommodate residential and commercial septic system service. Qualified applicants must be self motivated, clean, neat, and have a positive attitude. Applicants must additionally be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make proper repairs to all aspects of the septic system. Applicants must also be willing to learn the septic system installation process and assist septic installer with installations. NC drivers license is required along with drug testing and background checks.


Responsibilities

  • Analyzing plans and permits to determine location of septic tank and drain pipes
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
  • Cover pipes with dirt or other materials
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or plans and coordinatinglayouts
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints
  • Install or repair residential or commercial drainage systems
  • Use instruments such as lasers or grade rods to successfully install septic systems
  • Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or plans and coordinatinglayouts with supervisors
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
  • Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using locating devices
  • Perform calculations necessary for completing a job
  • Pump and repair septic systems and grease traps
  • Assisting on pump truck, locating, digging up, and pumping septic systems and grease traps
  • Acting as a helper on plumbing jobs, assisting in the repair of septic components
  • All other duties assigned
