Job Summary

The Septic Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of septic systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and in compliance with industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Routine Maintenance - Conduct regular septic system maintenance tasks, such as pumping, cleaning, and inspections. Identify and address issues that may affect system performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs - Diagnose and repair septic system problems, such as clogs, leaks, and malfunctions. Utilize tools and equipment effectively to perform necessary repairs.
  • Inspections and Assessments - Perform inspections to assess the condition of septic systems and components. Provide detailed reports on the system's health and any necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Record Keeping - Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Document equipment usage and materials consumed.
  • Safety and Compliance - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Stay updated on relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Customer Interaction - Interact professionally with clients, answering their questions and concerns. Offer guidance on septic system care and maintenance.

Required Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience

  • May require successful completion of Septic Inspection Training for Real Estate transactions.
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required.


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects of up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to continually stand, walk, climb, ascend/descend ladders, bend, stoop, crawl, and crouch, frequently in tight spaces, for extended periods of time, in indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to continually use hands/fingers to handle, feel, utilize tools, and operate machinery.


Work Environment & Conditions

  • Field environment including interior and exterior of customers' residential properties. May require exposure to weather conditions, dusts, and mists that may be present while working outdoors. Exposure to chemicals may occur. Use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety-footwear, goggles, gloves, shield, mask or respirator, and hardhats may be required.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid driver license and insurable driving history.
  • Must pass background screen, drug test, and motor vehicle records check.


Work Schedule

  • Generally, Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 3PM.
  • Some flexibility may be required including periodic nights and weekends.
