What Is SEO?

SEO or search engine optimization is the process of generating marketing results for a company or website through various forms of paid and non paid advertising. While the actual marketing content takes a variety of shapes, ranging from blogs and how-to guides to infographics, videos, product pages, and anything else that may be relevant to a company, SEO focuses on improving the ranking of this material in organic search results. SEO also involves using analytics software to determine which advertising techniques are most successful. Once a company has this information, it can start producing more content of that type, with the ultimate goal of improving its advertisements over time.

What are some common challenges faced by SEO specialists when working with cross-functional teams?

SEO specialists often collaborate with web developers, content creators, and marketing teams, which can present communication and alignment challenges. For example, implementing technical SEO recommendations may require developers to prioritize tasks that compete with other projects. Additionally, aligning content strategy with SEO goals sometimes involves negotiating with writers and editors to balance creativity and keyword optimization. Building strong relationships and clearly communicating the value of SEO can help overcome these obstacles and drive better results for the organization.
