Job description

As an HR Business Consultant, you will provide a broad range of strategic human resources consulting services to leaders.

Our HR Business Consultants are thought leaders who balance business and associate needs when problem-solving and creating integrated solutions. They utilize a deep understanding of our business model to proactively translate the area’s strategies into HR solutions that best enable the business teams to meet its strategic objectives.


What You'll Do

As an HR Business Consultant, you will:

  • Build strategic relationships with business leaders and develop trust and business acumen to deliver on business needs.

  • Partner with HR centers of excellence to execute on key processes related to employee relations, staffing, training, performance management, succession planning, compensation and benefits for business partners.

  • Identify, define and recommend solutions to address the needs of the business while taking account of the broad impact on the business and HR strategies.

  • Utilize key business/HR metrics and data to monitor changes or trends and examines results. Communicate and provide interpretation of results to business units to influence outcomes and aid decision making.

  • Lead and facilitate HR programs and services in line with the business area’s strategic plan.

  • Provide change management consultation to assigned business areas as needed. Lead projects and act as the go-to change management advocate throughout the project life cycle.

  • Provide end-to-end HR support from needs assessment through delivery and evaluation of implemented solutions.

  • Execute on programs, processes, or resources that drive workforce development, engagement and retention for assigned business area(s).

  • Collaborate with HR centers of excellence to ensure consistency in communications and implementation of updates and changes.

  • Provide additional programs, communications or resources in areas such as performance management, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, career development and leadership development to meet the specific needs of the business function.

  • Conduct reviews of HR activities to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

  • Remain up to date on legislature and upcoming changes that impact on the business.

  • May conduct investigations and gather and compile data on individual issues and make recommendations for action based on the compiled findings.

What it Takes

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience. 8 or more years of related work experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.

  • Demonstrated business expertise with knowledge of HR processes and procedures and how they can be applied to business strategy to influence results.

  • HR Generalist skills to include compensation, employee development, benefits, and organizational development.

  • Thorough knowledge of major HR disciplines and demonstrated ability to provide HR support to their business partners at the highest level.

  • Solid understanding of fair employment practices and regulations.

  • Proven ability to navigate and manage complex employee relations issues.

  • Previous change management experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with business leaders.
